Product description

The charger series VAC-F is designed for vehicle installation and fulfills the requirements of the FNFW in the current fire department standard DIN 14679 for charging auxiliary and starter batteries in emergency vehicles.

Details
  • Charging programs no. 1, 2, 3 and 5 (Gel, AGM, Acid, Start) as well as 4x Lithium-LiFePO4 adjustable to battery type
  • The charging voltage is free of peaks and regulated to prevent overcharging of the batteries.
  • Fully automatic continuous operation: the charger can be constantly connected to the battery and keeps it at full charge. In case of power failure, the batteries are not discharged (disconnected by safety switch).
  • Lithium LiFePO4- Maintenance, Auto Wake Up, Maintenance Phase: Regular automatic activation of battery cell balancing every 10 days to ensure full battery charge throughout.
  • Lead-acid battery regeneration twice a week during long idle periods to prevent harmful acid stratification.
  • Parallel and buffer operation: in case of simultaneous consumption, the battery continues to be charged or maintained full. The charger automatically calculates and monitors the adjustment of the charging times.
  • monitoring-free charging: Multiple protection against overload, overheating, overvoltage, short-circuit, reverse polarity, malfunction and battery back-discharge by electronic cut-off up to complete disconnection of charger and battery by built-in safety switches.
  • Connection for battery temperature sensor (temperature sensor 825 included): For lead batteries (acid, gel, AGM), the automatic adaptation of the charging voltage to the battery temperature, causes a better full charge of the weaker battery in cold weather, in summer temperatures, unnecessary battery gassing and thus battery stress is avoided.
  • For LiFePO4 batteries, the battery temperature sensor is required for the device function: It serves to protect the battery at high and especially at low temperatures below 0°C.
  • Silent Run function: Noise-optimized operation at the push of a button (night operation).
  • Power supply function: Enables the supply of consumers without battery (e.g. in case of battery change).
  • Charging cable compensation: Voltage losses on the charging cables are automatically compensated.
  • Built-in on-board power supply filter: Problem-free parallel operation with solar systems, wind and gasoline generators, alternators, etc. on one battery.
  • Electronics moisture-protected
  • Charging aid for deeply discharged lead batteries: Gentle pre-charging of the (lead-acid, -gel, -AGM) battery up to 8 V, then powerful support of the battery with consumers possibly still switched on.
  • Built-in charging current distributor with 2 main charging outputs, both with max. current and power capacity
  • In case of mixed operation with 1 supply and 1 starter battery, a separate starter charging program can be set on the built-in charging current distributor
  • Starter battery is also charged with full charging current if required (short vehicle standing time)
  • Separate auxiliary charge output "S" for support and maintenance charging of another starter battery or as signal output +86 for engine start inhibit when vehicle is connected to mains supply
  • Equalization function (IUIU charging characteristic can be activated manually for cell equalization charging)
  • Disconnection of batteries in case of mains failure, overheating, malfunction (safety switch per charge output)

Charging programs
  • 5 "MOTOR": Charging program for lead-acid/wet batteries, characteristic IU1oU2oU3: Characteristic similar to alternator/generator for moving (mobile) use (acid stratification) with particularly low maintenance (battery gassing, water consumption). Charging and charge maintenance of starter batteries in emergency vehicles, according to a conventional proposal of the Fire Service Standards Committee (FNFW). For conventional standard starter batteries, starter batteries "Absolutely maintenance-free", "Maintenance-free according to EN", "Maintenance-free according to DIN", "Maintenance-free", "Low maintenance".
  • 6 "L": Closed acid/wet batteries with water consumption: L = low according to DIN EN 50342-1, characteristic curve IU1oU2oU3. Characteristic with medium U1 level for acid batteries in vehicle-mounted or external chargers with a fixed location.
  • 7 "VL": Closed acid/wet batteries with water consumption: VL = very low according to DIN EN 50342-1, characteristic IU1oU2oU3. Characteristic curve with high U1 level for acid batteries in vehicle built-in or external chargers with fixed location.
  • 8 "Non-woven": Sealed batteries (VRLA) with AGM/non-woven technology: characteristic IU1oU2oU3. Characteristic for AGM batteries in vehicle-mounted or external chargers with fixed location.
  • 9 "Gel": Sealed batteries (VRLA) with gel technology: characteristic IU1oU2oU3. Characteristic curve for gel batteries in vehicle-mounted or external chargers with fixed location
