The low-cost 20 A shunt solar charge controller is ideal for small and medium solar systems. It independently detects whether a 12 V or 24 V system is connected. The shunt charge controller is equipped with the essential control and protection functions necessary for gentle and safe charging and discharging of lead-acid and lead-gel batteries.

Deep discharge and overcharge protection
The integrated deep discharge protection automatically switches off the load output as soon as the battery voltage drops below the minimum voltage. When the battery has been recharged and the battery voltage rises above the reset voltage, the solar charge controller automatically switches the load output back on. Overcharging is prevented thanks to integrated overcharge protection.

Automatic temperature compensation
The external temperature sensor ensures that the battery is charged as optimally as possible even when temperatures fluctuate. The end-of-charge and end-of-gassing voltages are dynamically adjusted to the prevailing temperature. At high temperatures, the closing voltage is reduced, at low temperatures it is increased.

Gassing control
If a lead battery is operated for a longer period of time without controlled gas development, harmful acid layers can form. The solar charge controller eliminates or prevents the formation of acid layers by controlled gassing. This behavior is also temperature dependent and is compensated by the built-in temperature sensor.

LED display
The two LEDs provide information about the current state of charge as well as the operating status of the battery.
