Product description
The IVT solar charge controller 12 V/24 V, 4 A with deep discharge protection is a small, reliable charge controller for smaller solar systems up to 4 A. The gentle charging of the solar battery is done according to the PWM charging method
The controller is suitable for lead-acid and lead-gel batteries. 12 V/24 V DC loads can be connected directly to the solar charge controller. With a self-current consumption of only 3 mA, this solar charge controller is extremely economical. It is equipped with 2 LEDs, which inform about the current battery status (battery full/battery being charged).
Details
The solar charge controller can be used for both 12 V and 24 V battery systems. The switching is done with a jumper.
PWM charging method
Solar charge controllers that work according to the PWM principle charge the battery with maximum current at the beginning of the charging process. As soon as the respective charging end voltage is reached, the current flow is stopped so that overcharging does not occur.
After this first charging step, the battery is usually not yet fully charged. A drop in the battery voltage is to be expected. Therefore, the charging current starts again when the voltage falls below a defined value. This process is repeated until the battery is fully charged.
Integrated over- and deep discharge protection
Protection against overcharging: As soon as the end-of-charge voltage is reached, the solar charge controller switches off the charge current. This prevents overcharging and damage to the solar battery.
Deep discharge protection with automatic load disconnection or load connection: The integrated deep discharge protection ensures that the solar controller automatically disconnects the load output when the battery voltage drops below the minimum voltage. Once the battery has been recharged and the battery voltage rises above the reset voltage, the solar charge controller automatically reconnects the load output.
Reverse current block: The solar charge controller is equipped with a reverse current block as standard. If the solar power is too low, e.g. at dusk or at night, the reverse current block prevents the battery from being back-discharged via the solar module.
12 V/24 V DC load output
The small controller is additionally equipped with a load output. 12 V/24 V DC loads can be connected directly to the solar charge controller.
