Camping showers: more than just body care
Mobile camping showers can be used always and everywhere
Mobile showers are not only good for personal hygiene. Because camping showers are also suitable for cleaning dirt and soil from bicycles or for washing the dog after a walk in bad weather. Find out everything about the functionality and equipment of mobile camping showers here.

Operation of the outdoor shower with or without electricity possible
Depending on the type, camping showers are available with a connection to the 12-volt mains or for operation without electricity. The latter can be used completely autonomously. The water pressure for electricity-free camping showers is often generated by a foot pump. With other mobile showers, the water simply runs out of the shower with the help of gravity.
Camping shower with 12-volt operation
Electric mobile showers usually have a 12-volt connection for the cigarette lighter. The Brunner Flux mobile shower comes with a USB cable and 12-volt adapter. This means that this camping shower can also be operated via a powerbank.
Mobile showers with immersion pump are versatile
In all 12-volt camping showers, an immersion pump draws in the water while it is sprayed via a shower head. This principle allows the mobile shower to be used together with containers of different sizes (tanks, buckets, bins, etc.). Comet also offers the Solo mobile shower set, consisting of a shower and a water canister (20 litres). If required, the Comet electric camping shower can also be operated with two block batteries.

Electricity-free camping showers
Electricity-free camping showers always form a unit consisting of a shower and water container. Mobile camping showers, such as the model from PAT, can be conveniently operated via a foot pump.
Outdoor shower with hot water
Certain mobile showers also deliver hot water if required. Among them is the Berger solar shower, which has been on the market almost unchanged for many years. This shower is actually a bag fitted with a hose and shower head. With the help of a rope, the solar shower can be hung on a tree or pole. One side of the water bag is covered with a special black film that heats the contents up to 50 degrees within 3 hours on contact with sunlight.
Only fill the solar shower halfway. If the water is too hot after a few hours, you can add cool water until a comfortable shower temperature is reached.
Mobile shower Rinsekit with various accessories
A warm shower is also possible with the outdoor shower Rinsekit. Either in conjunction with the hot water adapter or with the optionally available heating rod.
- The hot water adapter enables filling at a standard household tap. However, the water in the tank of the Rinsekit shower cools down again over time.
- The Rinsekit heater can be operated via the 12-volt connection in the car or motorhome and heats the tank contents to a maximum of 38 degrees.
- With the Rinsekit Pressure Booster the mobile shower can also be filled without a tap. In conjunction with a funnel supplied, the hand pump enables filling from a wide variety of water sources (e.g. lake or canister).

Can I use shampoo when showering outdoors?
You should not use conventional shower gel or shampoo in conjunction with a camping shower. Because most of the time you shower with it on a meadow or on the shore of a lake. Instead, there is special organic shower gel and shampoo for outdoor use. These products do not contain substances that are dangerous for animals or plants.
Conclusion: a camping shower should always be with you
A mobile shower does not necessarily have to provide long showering pleasure when camping. Mostly, outdoor showers serve as an emergency solution on simple campsites that do not offer sanitary facilities. But campers also like to use them to clean bikes, SUPs and other sports equipment.
Experience has shown that power-operated outdoor showers provide a more even water jet than mobile showers with a foot pump or other pressure generation.
