It's not only at the campsite that you have to do the dishes, but also in everyday life. You can be sure that you already have access to practical tools that work wonderfully in everyday camping life.

A brush is a bit bigger and therefore not always easy to store. However, it offers several advantages. For one thing, it makes it easier to get into narrow places. For this reason, it is ideal for cleaning glasses and bottles. In addition, you have a greater distance to the food residues when rinsing. This is a plus for people who are easily disgusted.

You want to kill two birds with one stone when camping? Then take a closer look at the illustrated gloves from Wenko. The nubby side is perfect for washing up. Your hands are protected. In addition, you can also use it to clean fruit and vegetables.

Here you will find all the utensils named above and other dishwashing aids in the Berger online shop.

Tips for washing dishes on the campsite

Washing dishes in the campsite sanitary building presents you with different challenges than washing dishes in your caravan or motorhome. But there are tools that can make your everyday camping life easier. We will now take a closer look at these products.

A universal plug is quite practical because often there is no way to close the drain in sanitary buildings. If you still want to rinse directly in the sink with a universal plug, clean it afterwards and leave it as you would like to find it next time.

You need a little more order? Then this organiser could be the right one for you. You can stock it with all the important utensils beforehand and don't have to search for anything on site.

How to wash your dishes in a particularly sustainable way

Sustainable dishwashing on a camping holiday - is that even possible? Yes! I have looked at various climate-friendly products for you that are designed to do just that.

You don't want to use chemical cleaners? Then try the soap-free solid dish-washing agent from Groovy Goods. It consists of 100 percent plant-based raw materials and cleans excellently. Simply moisten the cleaner with the sponge and then rub until it foams. Grease and food residues can already be removed.

Here you can find the solid dish-washing agent in the Berger online shop.

Drying dishes or quickly wiping something up - this is possible with the bamboo paper towel roll (unwaxed) from Nuts. It is the natural alternative to the disposable kitchen roll and is made of 100 percent bamboo viscose. The wipes can be used several times and washed up to 50 times. In addition, the wipes are plastic-free and compostable.

Glamping and washing up

You like it a bit more relaxed? Welcome to Glamping! So if you don't want to do without a little luxury when camping, a mobile dishwasher might be just the thing for you.

A dishwasher on a camping holiday? What was unimaginable in the past is no longer a problem today. You don't even need a water connection for this, because the required water is simply filled into the machine beforehand. This means that a mobile dishwasher is even suitable for a camping holiday, provided that electricity and the necessary space are available.

Among others, Klarstein offers such a mini dishwasher. It can hold up to two place settings. Then you can simply choose between six washing programmes via the LED display. One of them is specially designed for cleaning fruit. The disinfection programme is useful when travelling with a baby or small child. The water is drained off after the rinse cycle via the water hose supplied. So you could just use a bucket to catch the grey water.

The dimensions of the unit are 42 x 44 x 42 centimetres and it weighs 14 kilograms.

You can find more information here on the Klarstein page.

Conclusion: dishwashing made easy

As you can see, there are now clever products on the market that are designed to make washing up easier for you. But what exactly is right for you remains a matter of opinion and depends on your needs. Overall, I think you should also see washing up at the campsite a little more positively. After all, you often meet other campers washing up in the sanitary building and sometimes the nicest conversations arise.
