Casette Toilette
A cassette toilet is often installed in mobile homes and caravans.
This has its name thanks to a removable faeces cassette placed under the toilet bowl. It is usually removed and emptied through a service flap on the outside.
Cassette toilets are either connected to the fresh water tank of the vehicle or have their own water tank with which to flush. Sanitary additives help with decomposition and prevent odours.
A special form of the cassette toilet is the so-called "Porta Potti", i.e. a portable camping toilet. The toilet bowl including the flush water tank and the waste-holding tank are not permanently installed in the vehicle.
