Ignition Safety
Camping stoves, gas heaters or gas cookers have a so-called ignition safety. This is a small valve that stops the gas supply as soon as the gas flame is off. This prevents gas from escaping uncontrollably when the camping gas appliances are not in use and the flame has gone out.
The safety device is also called "flame detector".
The way thermoelectric ignition safety devices work is simple. As soon as the gas flame burns, a thermocouple is heated up, which generates voltage and opens the valve. As soon as the heat source fails, the voltage is released and the safety valve is closed with the help of a spring.
