Tensile Load
The tensile load or towing load refers to the weight that a vehicle pulls behind itself. Vehicles can pull a heavier weight than they weigh themselves.
However, the permissible tensile load must be taken into account for hitched vehicles. It is not the unladen weight of the caravan that is used, but the total weight including the load.
Pulling a higher than permissible tensile load risks a fine and reduces the safety of your team.
