R-Value
The R-Value is a measure that describes the insulation capacity of insulation mats. It stands for the thermal resistance of the material. The R stands for resistance.
The rule of thumb for the R-value is: The higher the value, the better the insulation.
Attention: Thick mats do not automatically insulate well. The material and the filling play the decisive role.
You can use these values as a guide:
Summer to +7° C: R-value 1 to 1.5
Spring/Autumn to +2° C: R-value 1.5 to 2.5
Winter to -17° C: R-value 4.5 to 6
Extreme range from -17° C: R-value 6 to 11
