Solar systems for camping usually consist of two components, a module and a charge controller, which is connected in front of your on-board battery. When the sun shines, electricity flows into the battery until the controller recognizes that the battery is fully charged. On the one hand, the charge controller ensures that the on-board and starter batteries are always optimally charged, and on the other hand, it ensures that no current flows back to the solar modules at night.
