Thank you very much for sharing your experience with our Berger Tarp in such detail.
We are very sorry that your beach trip had to end early due to the difficulties you described. We’re especially sorry that you even suffered an injury to your forehead from a flying support pole. We sincerely hope you’re feeling better by now.
Our Berger Tarp is designed as a flexible sun and weather shelter for mobile use while camping. With an area of 200 × 300 cm, it provides additional sheltered outdoor space. With a design like this, careful tensioning and secure anchoring of the support poles are especially important.
In windy locations, such as the beach, the large surface area of the tarp can subject the material, the guy lines, and the support poles to considerable forces. In strong or gusty winds, the tarp should therefore be taken down as a precaution to prevent damage.
We deeply regret that a tear developed in the material after just a few setups. Since this is one of our Berger products, we take your feedback regarding the tarp’s durability and the stability of the support structure seriously and will consider these as important points for future product development.
We recommend that you submit a claim to have the damage inspected, along with your proof of purchase.
Thank you very much for your candid feedback and for bringing this experience to our attention.
Your Fritz Berger Team
Dein Fritz Berger Team
