The comprehensive water hygiene solution offers automatic water preservation, filtration of dirt and contaminants, and fully automatic water disinfection using UV-C LEDs. The UV disinfection unit from WM aquatec is the first fully automatic water disinfection unit of its kind, designed specifically for use in motorhomes; it activates automatically when water is drawn, thereby guaranteeing hygienically flawless water worldwide!

Unlike previous UV technology, this system does not use gas discharge lamps but rather the latest UV-C LED technology. The water to be disinfected is irradiated with short-wavelength UV light in the range of 240–290 nanometers. The genetic information contained in the microorganisms’ DNA absorbs the energy of the UV-C radiation and is thereby destroyed. Viruses and bacteria can be effectively inactivated by UV-C radiation, preventing them from multiplying. This purely physical process enables the water to be sterilized (up to 99.999%) without the use of chemical disinfectants.

Automatic Water Preservation

Automatic water preservation with every new tank fill, using Silvertex’s proven silver ion technology inside the tank, keeps the water fresh while simultaneously reducing microbial growth and biofilm formation throughout the entire fresh water system.

Contaminant and Pollutant Retention

Contaminants and substances that affect taste are retained by adsorption in the activated carbon filter. These include, for example, pesticides, heavy metals, and chlorine. At the same time, with a filter fineness of 10 µm (0.01 mm), the filter protects the downstream UV-C LED water disinfection unit from dirt and suspended particles.

The UV-C LED water disinfection unit ensures fully automatic water disinfection via a flow-through process using innovative UV-C LED technology directly at the water outlet. No lamp replacement required.

Fresh Water System Maintenance

In addition to water preservation and water disinfection, maintenance of the fresh water system plays a crucial role in ensuring hygienic operation. With (at least annual) fresh water system maintenance, contaminants such as limescale deposits (KXpress), bacteria, and any biofilm (DEXDA Clean) are removed—contaminants that would otherwise provide a breeding ground for germs. DEXDA Clean disinfectant cleaner and KXpress descaler can be used simultaneously—saving time and effort.
