It is essential to have a completely paint-free, rust-free, clean spherical head in the non-swing coupling if it is to function perfectly. It must have a bare metallic surface that is free from any grease. There are no exceptions. Removing paint and rust, and cleaning is obligatory before putting it into operation. The manufacturers require this. Otherwise there is a danger that friction materials clog the non-swing coupling with paint and dirt particles and this could inhibit 100% functionality.
