Thanks to innovative UV-C LED technology, WM aquatec’s UV disinfection units deliver exceptionally high disinfection performance in an extremely compact design. Unlike conventional UV technology, these units do not use gas-discharge lamps but instead employ the latest UV-C LED technology, which offers enormous advantages.
MAINTENANCE-FREE
Since LEDs have no start-up or warm-up phase, they are activated only when water is being drawn, resulting not only in very low power consumption but also in a long service life of several years—without the need to replace lamps. Therefore, WM Aquatec disinfection units are virtually maintenance-free.
CHEMICAL-FREE
The water to be disinfected is irradiated with short-wavelength UV light. The genetic information contained in the pathogens’ DNA absorbs the energy of the UV-C radiation and is thereby destroyed. This purely physical process enables efficient disinfection of the water (up to 99.999%) without the use of chemical disinfectants.
ULTRA-COMPACT
With a flow rate of up to 8 L/min, they are ideal for drinking water disinfection in, for example, RVs, expedition vehicles, food trucks, or yachts. In addition, the LED light sources, the ballast, and the control unit are housed in a high-quality stainless steel enclosure, which features smart connections on both the electrical and water sides, making it a plug-and-play solution.
