Berger PCA 3400 bus and tent air conditioner
Jürgen H.
Test report from 20.08.2026
„In a rooftop tent and in a motorhome; during the last heat wave, even in the kids' room at home“
„between 28 and 38 degrees“
„My first impression was that the air conditioner is surprisingly large and quite heavy. But as soon as you turn it on, you realize that its cooling power more than justifies its weight.“
„The air conditioner isn't exactly lightweight. But given its performance, it can't be. Despite its size, it's easy to handle and fits perfectly into a Eurobox for transport. Thanks to the two hoses included, the air conditioner can also be set up outside (in a dry place, of course) and blow cool air directly into the tent.“
„The design is simple and unobtrusive. We especially liked the included remote control. This way, the device can be placed outside or, for example, in a storage compartment, and still be easily operated.“
„The air conditioner cools very well and at a decent pace. Inside the tent, you can feel the difference in temperature within just a few minutes. But even in larger spaces—for example, in a 50 m² vacation rental—we were able to noticeably lower the temperature within 3 hours, which allowed us to sleep much better.“
„You can hear the air conditioner, but it's not bothersome. We usually cooled down the tent before going to sleep and then turned the unit off. Since you can set up the unit outside the tent, the noise level isn't a problem at all.“
Overall impression:
„It’s a great way to keep the temperature under control—especially on hot days like we’ve had this year—so that we and the kids could enjoy a restful night’s sleep and, as a result, a relaxing vacation. We especially liked that the unit is portable and can be used virtually anywhere—whether in a tent, a trailer, or at home. Bottom line: We’ll always have it with us on our future vacations. Even in the fall, by the way, since it can also provide heat ;-)“
