Camping Genienau in Bonn-Mehlem, right on the banks of the Rhine. It’s a small, easy-going site with a lovely beer garden and fair prices. You can even pick your own pitch on a grassy meadow under the trees.
Most embarrassing moment
The first time I arrived at a campsite with a caravan, I didn’t realise there was a designated lane for vehicle check-in. I drove straight up to the barrier and quickly caused quite a queue. In the end, I had to jump ahead at reception to sort everything out as fast as possible.
