It goes without saying that a crack forming in the plastic after just a few uses—thereby compromising the stability of the step surface—should not happen. Especially with a folding step designed to make getting in and out of a motorhome or travel trailer easier, stability and safety are our top priorities.
Our Berger folding step is designed for mobile use while camping and, thanks to its folding design, can be stowed away to save space. Of course, the step surface must remain reliable and able to safely support weight even with regular use.
We therefore fully understand that, following the crack that has formed, you no longer have confidence in the step’s stability. For safety reasons, please do not continue to use it in this condition, as damage to the load-bearing plastic structure can compromise its load-bearing capacity.
Since this is one of our Berger products, we take your feedback regarding the durability and stability of the material very seriously and will consider it an important factor in our ongoing product testing and development.
We recommend that you submit a claim to have the damage inspected, along with your proof of purchase.

Dass sich bereits nach wenigen Einsätzen ein Riss im Kunststoff gebildet hat und dadurch die Stabilität der Trittfläche beeinträchtigt wird, darf selbstverständlich nicht passieren. Gerade bei einem Klapptritt, der den sicheren Ein- und Ausstieg am Wohnmobil oder Wohnwagen erleichtern soll, stehen Stabilität und Sicherheit an erster Stelle.
Unser Berger Klapptritt ist für den mobilen Einsatz beim Camping konzipiert und lässt sich dank seiner klappbaren Konstruktion platzsparend verstauen. Dabei muss die Trittfläche selbstverständlich auch bei regelmäßiger Nutzung zuverlässig und sicher belastbar bleiben.
Wir können daher gut nachvollziehen, dass Du nach dem entstandenen Riss kein Vertrauen mehr in die Stabilität des Tritts hast. Bitte verwende ihn in diesem Zustand aus Sicherheitsgründen nicht weiter, da eine Beschädigung der tragenden Kunststoffkonstruktion die Belastbarkeit beeinträchtigen kann.
Da es sich um eines unserer Berger-Produkte handelt, nehmen wir Deinen Hinweis zur Haltbarkeit und Stabilität des Materials sehr ernst und berücksichtigen diesen als wichtigen Punkt für die weitere Produktprüfung und -entwicklung.
