When it comes to the performance and longevity of lithium batteries, optimum temperature conditions are crucial. An integrated heater in your battery offers numerous advantages:
- Improved performance - even in the cold: With a heater, the temperature of the battery is kept at an optimal level, so you can count on reliable performance even in freezing conditions.
- Protection against damage caused by low temperatures: Low temperatures can not only reduce performance, but also lead to permanent damage to the battery.
- Extended service life: Deep discharges at extreme temperatures are prevented, which increases the overall service life of the battery.
- The heating function is automatically activated when the battery temperature is ≤ 0 °C during charging.

12 V parallel connection of several batteries
Any number of batteries of the same brand, type, age, capacity and state of charge can be connected in parallel to increase the capacity.
24 V / 36 V / 48 V series or series connection of several batteries
A maximum of 4 batteries (48V) of the same brand, type, age, capacity and state of charge can be connected in series to increase the output voltage.
Customer questions
Is the battery also suitable as a starter battery?
The Berger 300 Ah LiFePO4 battery is primarily designed for deep-cycle applications such as solar storage, motorhomes or on-board power supply. It is not intended for use as a starter battery, as starter batteries have different requirements in terms of short-term current and cold behavior. For optimum function and a long service life, we recommend using it as a supply or body battery.
Is the battery compatible with conventional chargers for AGM or gel batteries?
The Berger 300 Ah LiFePO4 battery is optimized for operation with LiFePO4-compatible chargers. Many modern chargers can be set to a lithium or LiFePO4 mode and can therefore be used without any problems. Conventional AGM or gel chargers without a suitable lithium characteristic curve may result in incomplete charging or reduced performance and service life. For the best possible performance, maximum safety and full capacity utilization, we therefore recommend using a charger with explicit LiFePO4 approval. Many high-quality chargers for AGM or gel batteries have a lithium mode or are approved for LiFePO4 batteries according to the manufacturer. Please check the charger manufacturer's specifications.
When is the battery heater activated?
The heating function is activated automatically as soon as the battery temperature is ≤ 0 °C during the charging process. At this point, the BMS (battery management system) interrupts the charging process and gives priority to the heating. As soon as the temperature reaches +5 °C, the charging process continues automatically. If the temperature rises above 10 °C, the heating function is deactivated.
Does my charger need to be converted?
In many cases, no conversion is necessary. Many modern AGM or gel chargers have a lithium or LiFePO4 mode or can be set accordingly. If your charger does not offer a setting, we recommend using a LiFePO4-enabled charger in order to utilize the full capacity and service life of the battery.

"The battery makes a good impression. Only the app isn't quite right. The display shows 83% and 126 hours of discharge time based on current consumption. But after 12 hours, it switches itself off! You shouldn't rely on it. It's been in use for about 2 months and has only been fully charged 3 times. Maybe it will get better ;-). I've been driving my second camper with a lithium battery for years – basically, there's nothing better..." "Das Akku macht einen guten Eindruck. Nur mit der App stimmt was nicht. Regarding the app display, we understand that the indicated 83% and 126 hours of discharge time can be confusing when the actual runtime is significantly shorter. The forecast is calculated dynamically based on current consumption and may be inaccurate during the first charging cycles and when the load changes. The behavior may actually improve after a few complete charge and discharge cycles as the BMS (battery management system) calibration becomes more accurate. There may be several reasons why the battery shut down after approximately 12 hours, e.g., a short-term increase in load that the app forecast did not take into account.

Bezüglich der App-Anzeige können wir gut verstehen, dass die angegebenen 83 % und 126 Stunden Entladezeit irritierend wirken, wenn die tatsächliche Laufzeit deutlich kürzer ist. Die Prognose berechnet sich dynamisch aus dem momentanen Verbrauch und kann in den ersten Ladezyklen sowie bei wechselnder Last noch ungenau sein. Das Verhalten kann sich tatsächlich nach einigen vollständigen Lade‑ und Entladezyklen verbessern, da die BMS‑Kalibrierung (Batteriemanagementsystem) präziser wird.
Dass sich die Batterie nach ca. 12 Stunden abgeschaltet hat, kann verschiedene Ursachen haben, z. B. eine kurzfristig erhöhte Last, die die App‑Prognose nicht berücksichtigt.
