No More Odors
A small, high-performance fan—developed specifically for and in collaboration with SOG (resistant to the aggressive components in the air drawn from the waste tank and waterproof)—achieves the following effect

• It turns on automatically when the toilet slide is opened and creates a vacuum in the waste tank
• This creates a suction effect at the valve opening, drawing in fresh air as well as the odors generated during use and directing them outside
• The intake of air acts as a seal and 100% prevents all unpleasant sewage gases from rising out of the tank (comfort without odor)
• However, after automatic shutdown, ventilation to the outside continues, while the system remains sealed to the inside

AdvantagesIn addition to eliminating odor nuisance, active toilet ventilation has the major advantage of requiring no chemicals whatsoever.
When the valve is closed, the SOG system’s hose connection to the outside ensures that the decomposition process is accelerated by the deliberate introduction of oxygen into the waste tank. Even standard toilet paper is broken down in no time, eliminating the need for special paper.

Activated Carbon
An important component of the SOG and SOGII is activated carbon.
It consists primarily of carbon (usually >90%) with a highly porous structure. The pores are interconnected, much like a sponge (open-pored).
Activated carbon is used as an adsorbent in fields such as chemistry, medicine, water and wastewater treatment, as well as ventilation and air conditioning technology.

Toilet odors are filtered out to the outside via a carbon filter mat, which is attached to the outside of the service hatch using a filter housing.


Roof Mounting Option
With a special roof vent, we offer the option of venting the SOG systems through the roof. The waste tank is connected to the roof vent via a pipe. The high-performance fan is located directly beneath the roof vent and ensures sufficient negative pressure even with a pipe run of up to three meters. The gas-tight sanitary hose, available in the motorhome accessories market, has proven to be the easiest to install when retrofitting a roof ventilation system. The supplied parts are designed to fit a wastewater pipe system available at specialty camping stores (also applies to SOGII).
The roof vent is maintenance-free, as no filter is required.
Retrofitting can be quite labor-intensive in some cases, which is why it is primarily used by manufacturers as original equipment.

Type B
For all models in the Thetford C200 series

The SOG system is vented through the roof using a special roof vent. The parts we supply are designed to work with the wastewater pipe system available at camping supply stores.

Floor-Mounted Version:
The SOG II Compact System offers a variety of options for venting the toilet. The unit consists of a replaceable filter cartridge into which the fan is inserted. Because the fan is mounted within the filter’s seal, it is barely audible.

The SOG II offers the advantage that the filter cartridge can be flexibly installed in a wide variety of locations within the recreational vehicle and vented through the floor at any desired location (e.g., in the garage, under the bench seat, in the false floor, or in a storage compartment).A hose or pipe extension (up to three meters away from the toilet) can be attached both upstream of the compact unit and to the floor outlet to find a suitable location.

Since the filter unit is placed inside the vehicle, no modifications to the exterior of the vehicle are necessary—there is no need to coordinate with the exterior design.

The specific technical design of the filter housing in relation to the flow dynamics, as well as the resulting vast filter surface area and the composition of the activated carbon, work so efficiently that the extracted odor-laden air is completely neutralized.

Therefore, for caravans where the toilet’s service hatch opens directly into the awning, we recommend installing the SOG®II floor-mounted version without hesitation. Emptying the cassette is just as easy as before: The exhaust hose is removed, and the now-open connector is sealed with the matching cap provided.
