Ultralight aluminum is a lightweight material with good thermal conductivity. The Ultralight (UL) alloy is also known as 5005; it is 50 percent stronger than "standard" aluminum (Alloy 1050). This allows cookware to be thinner and the cookware sets to be lighter without compromising durability or functionality. Suitable for many users who want a simple, functional cookware set.
Hard Anodized (HA)
Hard-anodized aluminum is a surface treatment that makes the aluminum surface hard and scratch-resistant, with a matte gray finish. The treatment protects against wear and corrosion, and HA aluminum is therefore slightly easier to clean than Ultralight. The weight is the same as the corresponding UL product, since the treatment penetrates the material. Suitable for users who have previously appreciated our titanium cookware, as it is just as lightweight and scratch-resistant.
Non-Stick (NS)
Used primarily in our frying pans, but you’ll also find it in our pots. Non-stick cookware is made of Ultralight with a coating that prevents food from sticking—even with little or no cooking oil. This also makes them easy to wash. At the same time, the non-stick coating is more delicate, and we recommend using only wooden or plastic utensils with these cookware items. Trangia’s non-stick coating is a PFOA-free PTFE type.
Duosal 2.0 DS (DS)
Our unique Duosal 2.0 superlaminate consists of aluminum and stainless steel that are pressed together under high pressure. This optimal combination features an aluminum exterior that ensures good thermal conductivity, while the stainless steel interior makes the cookware scratch-resistant and easy to clean. The material thickness is 0.8 millimeters, of which 0.3 millimeters is stainless steel; these are sturdy cookware pieces designed for real outdoor cooking.
