Versatile cooling for camping and traveling
The compressor cool box is a reliable solution for mobile cooling when camping. Depending on the version, the appliance has a capacity of 20 to 95 liters and keeps food or drinks at a flexible temperature between -20 °C and +20 °C. The removable lid that can be opened on both sides, cup holders and a tablet compartment make it particularly convenient to use. The robust plastic housing, a splash-proof silicone closure (IPX4) and 3-stage battery protection make the cool box suitable for outdoor use. The supplied DC adapter extends the connection options, for example to the 12 V connection (cigarette lighter) in the vehicle.

First of all, we’re pleased that the cooler worked well both during your test run at home and in solar mode, and that you were particularly impressed by its pleasantly low noise level. This makes it all the more unfortunate that several problems arose during your vacation when outdoor temperatures were high.
As a compressor-based cooler, the EPL 40 is designed for mobile use and can be operated with 12 V, 24 V, or, via the appropriate connection, 230 V. These various power options are specifically intended to offer as much flexibility as possible while camping.
Of course, it shouldn’t have been the case that the cooler failed to cool sufficiently at high outside temperatures and eventually displayed a malfunction. We also take your report seriously that the adapter became very hot when connected directly to a power source. We fully understand why you turned off the cooler as a precaution in this situation.
Since this is one of our Berger products, we’re taking your feedback regarding cooling performance at high outdoor temperatures and the adapter’s excessive heating into account as important considerations for future product development.

Es freut uns zunächst, dass die Kühlbox sowohl bei Deinem Probelauf zu Hause als auch im Solarbetrieb grundsätzlich gut funktioniert hat und Dich insbesondere die angenehm geringe Lautstärke überzeugen konnte. Umso bedauerlicher ist es, dass während des Urlaubs bei hohen Außentemperaturen gleich mehrere Probleme aufgetreten sind.
Als Kompressor-Kühlbox ist die EPL 40 für den mobilen Einsatz ausgelegt und kann mit 12 V, 24 V sowie über den entsprechenden Anschluss mit 230 V betrieben werden. Gerade diese unterschiedlichen Versorgungsmöglichkeiten sollen beim Camping möglichst viel Flexibilität bieten.
Dass die Kühlbox bei hohen Außentemperaturen nicht mehr ausreichend herunterkühlte und schließlich eine Störung angezeigt hat, sollte so natürlich nicht sein. Auch Deine Schilderung, dass sich der Adapter beim direkten Stromanschluss sehr stark erwärmt hat, nehmen wir ernst. Dass Du die Kühlbox in dieser Situation vorsichtshalber ausgeschaltet hast, können wir gut nachvollziehen.
Da es sich um eines unserer Berger-Produkte handelt, nehmen wir Deine Hinweise zum Kühlverhalten bei hohen Außentemperaturen und zur starken Erwärmung des Adapters als wichtige Punkte für die weitere Produktentwicklung mit auf.
