"It really is a great tent. We use it with the vestibule attached to our VW van and are thrilled with the quality, the sense of space, and the indoor climate. Sure, it’s quite a bit heavier than a similarly sized tent made of synthetic fabric and takes up more storage space in the car. But we used to have a synthetic-fiber tent, and the dripping condensation, as well as the sometimes poor fabric tension, just annoyed us. With the Orion’s Cotton Touch fabric, both of those issues are a thing of the past. Even here, during the cooler months, the tent walls are sometimes slightly damp in the morning—which is completely normal—but nothing drips down, since the fabric absorbs the truly negligible amount of condensation, allowing it to evaporate again as the day progresses. The premium price is reflected not only in the quality of the fabric, but also in the guy lines, zippers, seams, windows with mesh and blackout liners, and the three continuous air tubes running along the tent roof. Clever details, such as the sewn-on mesh pockets for the guy lines or the Velcro-fastened valve covers, also show that this is a top-tier product. Thanks to the high ceiling and the nearly vertical side walls, you can make the most of the space, and the large windows make the tent bright and inviting. In good weather, you can remove the side walls completely; in bad weather, you can attach a groundsheet all around. This, too, is made of truly high-quality material. As for setting it up, the tent goes up really quickly. However, if you want to secure it properly against the weather, that naturally takes some time. Wir nutzen es mit Schleuse an unserem VW Bus und sind begeistert von Qualität, Raumgefühl und auch dem Raumklima. Sicher, es ist ein gutes Stück schwerer als ein vergleichbar großes Zelt aus reiner Kunstfaser und benötigt auch mehr Stauraum im Auto. Aber, wir hatten vorher ein Kunstfaserzelt und das tropfende Kondenswasser, sowie die teils schlechte Tuchspannung haben uns einfach genervt. Mit dem Cotton Touch Stoff des Orion ist das beides Geschichte. Auch hier sind in der kühleren Jahreszeit die Zeltwände morgens manchmal leicht feucht, was völlig normal ist, aber es tropft nichts herab, da der Stoff die wirklich verschwindend geringe Menge an Kondensat bindet und dieses im Tagesverlauf wieder verdunsten kann. Der gehobene Preis spiegelt sich nicht nur in der Qualität des Stoffes, sondern bei Faulstreifen, Reißverschlüssen, Nähten, Fenstern mit Mesh und Verdunkelung und den drei durchgängigen Airtubes am Zeltdach wider. Auch clevere Details wie die angenähten Meshtaschen für die Abspannleinen oder die angekletteten Abdeckungen der Ventile, zeigen, dass man sich hier in der Oberliga befindet. Durch die hohe Decke und die fast senkrechten Seitenwände lässt sich der Raum maximal ausnutzen und durch die großen Fenster ist es im Zelt freundlich hell. Bei schönem Wetter kann man die Wände komplett herausnehmen, bei schlechtem Wetter lässt sich eine Bodenwanne ringsum einkletten. Auch diese ist aus wirklich wertigem Material. Was das Aufbauen angeht, so steht das Zelt wirklich flott. Wenn man es jedoch wetterfest abspannen will, nimmt das natürlich eine gewisse Zeit in Anspruch. So locker flockig wie in diversen Youtube Videos funktioniert das logischerweise nicht. Ob jemand, der seinen Standort häufig wechseln möchte, das in Kauf nehmen will, weiß ich nicht. Wir sind mit Kindern unterwegs und brauchen deshalb eine wetterfeste und im Zweifel auch beheizbare Wohnraumerweiterung zum Bus. Und dafür ist das Zelt wirklich top. "
