Water Pocket
So-called "water pockets" can form in the rain if a tent roof is not sufficiently stretched . The rainwater then collects in a hollow and literally forms a bag filled with water. Due to the high pressure in the water pocket, even with a high water column in the long run, water can get through the tent roof into the interior. In the worst case, the tent frame breaks because the water cannot drain away and the weight of the water pocket becomes too great for the statics. Remedy against water pockets is sufficient tensioning of the tent walls and roof with special roof tensioning tools.
