about the author
Heiko Kühr, born in Suhl (Thuringia) in 1968, studied military science and mechanical engineering at the military college in Löbau until 1990 and has been a guide in the arctic wilderness of Spitsbergen for about 15 years.
Together with his Siberian husky dog Hondo, he has covered more than 2,000 km on tours, hiked the Alps, the Pyrenees and parts of Scandinavia, experiencing the ups and downs of hiking with a dog first hand.

Short description
No matter how many times a day you "walk" your dog, doesn't the feeling creep up on you often enough in everyday life that you don't spend enough time with your dog? I mean truly spend time together and not just quickly go for 15 minutes around the corner to the meadow and throw a few balls. How nonsensical would it be, then, to put your furry friend in a boarding kennel before a hiking vacation?

Isn't that exactly what we and our dog need most, time together? How would it be to finally be outside together without time pressure and without stress, to feel wind and weather, to master difficult situations, to enjoy the wonderful play of light of the sunset in front of the tent and to grow even closer together? This book provides tips and suggestions that will help you plan a tour in advance and make later "nasty surprises" less likely.
