With the Oyster Connect, the engineers of the premium manufacturer of mobile satellite technology from Baden-Württemberg have developed a special antenna system for high demands: the mobile hotspot ensures a stable signal - even while driving.

You can surf in your motorhome, camper van or caravan in complete relaxation - and also enjoy all the advantages of a "mobile home network".

The connection is maintained regardless of location, no matter what network the external signal comes from - the registered end devices connect automatically to their own hotspot.

One of the main advantages of this special antenna system with its direct RF connection to the transmitter and receiver modules is that the mounting location of the Outdoor Unit is on top of the vehicle roof, thus enabling maximum transmission and reception power.

The Oyster Connect is therefore far superior to classic smartphone reception and products currently available on the market, as the attenuation of the signals by the vehicle body (thermal glazing / metal body) and the length of the antenna cable is no longer a factor.

The highlight is that both an LTE and a dual band WiFi module are installed in the outdoor unit.

Each of these modules has a directly connected antenna system specially designed for this application, which ensures a longer range and, if the LTE network is overloaded by too many users, can reach not only the next but also the next but one radio mast. In the WiFi range, the MIMO system with 4 antennas ensures stable data throughput in both the 2.4 GHz band and the 5 GHz band. Behind MIMO is the ability to send and receive a data stream over several antennas through intelligent data processing (Multiple Input Multiple Output).

The LTE function is based on an ALL-band antenna in diversity technology. It supports all European LTE bands/providers and provides maximum transmit and receive power without antenna alignment.

The information received in front of the outdoor unit is transmitted loss-free to the indoor unit via a data cable.

The Oyster Connect - Indoor Unit

The second component of the Oyster® Connect system, the Indoor Unit, is located inside the vehicle and serves as a WiFi access point just like you know it from home. The Indoor Unit is a fully functional private access point with integrated 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi antennas (2x2 MIMO technology). Both bands operate in parallel - so you can connect several mobile devices simultaneously, even on different bands, with the highest possible data transfer.

With the Indoor Unit, the desired end devices, such as Smartphone, Tablet, Laptop or Smart TV only have to be connected once. It also has a LAN connection and can therefore also set up a private wired LAN network. The Outdoor Unit is aerodynamically designed: With a height of only twelve centimetres and a length of about 40 centimetres, it fits on any leisure vehicle and is a convincing 1.5-kilogram lightweight.

When it comes to assembly, the ten Haaft engineers have remained true to their proven system: A mounting plate is glued to the roof and the antenna housing is mounted with four screws. If necessary, the inserted SIM card can be replaced at any time, for example with a country-specific SIM card.

A roof lead-through and the four-metre long data cable allow flexible installation on any vehicle.
